5 injured including 3 minors during knife attack in Dublin, victims hospitalized

Irish police reported on Thursday that a serious public order incident in the heart of Dublin had left five people injured, including three small children. According to Irish media, the five victims—some of them with stab wounds—have been transported to several hospitals in Dublin.

Three small children, an adult female, and an adult male are among the casualties, according to a police spokesperson. While the other two children are receiving treatment for less serious injuries, a girl child is reported to suffer serious injuries. The male adult got minor injuries and is being treated at the hospital while the female is receiving medical treatment for major injuries.

According to the spokesperson, police are pursuing a specific line of investigation and are not currently seeking any other individuals. The incident happened just after 1:30 p.m. local time outside of a school in Parnell Square East. The scene is still seized.

The horrific attack on three children and a woman shocked Irish Justice Minister Helen McEntee to her core.

The knife attack caused rioting throughout the city centre. As of yet, the police have not ruled out any motive for behind it, including a possible connection to terrorism.
