Sachin Railway Station, a small station in Surat, is strategically located on a major route connecting Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Delhi, boasting three platforms. Gavaskar, a key member of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning squad, held the record for the most Test centuries before Sachin Tendulkar surpassed it in 2005. Gavaskar’s illustrious career, marked by over 10,000 runs, 45 half-centuries, and 34 centuries, showcased his prowess against formidable opponents, notably the West Indies in the 70s and 80s. The ‘Little Master’ Tendulkar, with 13 centuries in 27 Tests against the West Indies, eventually surpassed Gavaskar’s record, etching his own legacy in cricket history.
