Bengaluru Man Reveals His Auto Driver Was The Chief Growth Officer At Juspay
In a remarkable ‘peak Bengaluru’ moment, a viral encounter between a man and his Uber auto driver has captivated the internet. Manasvi Saxena, co-founder at MoMoney, shared the astonishing story of his Uber driver’s dual role in both the UPI app Juspay and the auto app Namma Yatri, which is owned by the payment app.
Mr. Saxena expressed his amazement by stating, “My Uber auto driver tonight was the Chief Growth Officer at Juspay, doing user research for Namma Yatri. If this isn’t peak Bengaluru, then what is.”
In a follow-up tweet, Mr. Saxena shared, “The intriguing part is that I wrote a document on how to take user calls at @momoney_in today and got to be on the other side of one on the same day.”

He further explained, “It wasn’t any specific question but the flow of the entire conversation. It didn’t feel like a user interview but a casual chit chat, and yet he asked all the right questions. I only got suspicious because the conversation was well articulated, and there was no hint of his extraordinary background.”
According to information from LinkedIn, the auto driver, identified as Shan M S, is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and has been associated with Juspay for the past 2 years.
His LinkedIn bio reads, “At Juspay, leading growth & international biz on a mission to make payments open, fast, reliable, and affordable. Building NammaYatri, an open mobility initiative to empower drivers and create sustainable urban mobility.”
His professional journey has included roles at HiveMinds, Cure.Fit, Bounce, and CBO.
This incredible story is yet another testament to the uniqueness of Bengaluru’s tech ecosystem, where unexpected encounters like these can happen. It’s a tale that beautifully showcases the convergence of diverse talents and experiences in the city.
Previously, another auto driver had gained social media fame after a photo of him driving a three-wheeler while sitting in an office chair went viral. The chair he used is typically associated with gamers or editors who spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
