The statement comes days after a huge controversy broke out over the shift to India from Bharat in the dinner invitation from President Droupadi Murmu to foreign leaders attending the G20 summit this weekend.

In their second bilateral meeting in less than six months, American President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi committed to strengthening the bilateral relationship.

According to sources, during the bilateral talks, both the leaders also reviewed the ongoing bilateral cooperation in the areas of clean energy, trade and defence.

PM Modi has replaced his cover image with a picture of the Bharat Mandapam, the venue for the G-20 Summit.

Over three days, through Sunday, PM Modi will attend more than 15 bilateral engagements, according to sources.

“This year's theme is ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth. ASEAN matters because here everyone's voice is heard & ASEAN is epicentrum of growth because ASEAN plays an important role in global growth,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi requested that his ministers refrain from making any comments about the name change during the meeting. He reportedly said, "Do not comment," according to sources.

This year's group leader, India, has gone all out, using drones to fly around the capital and paint murals on underpasses.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has requested that his Union Council of Ministers avoid participating in the discussion of whether India should change its name.

John Kirby, National Security Council (NSC) coordinator for strategic communications, also pointed out that there is very little possibility that PM Modi and President Biden will discuss on climate and the ongoing Ukraine war.
