A decision-making body called the Conference of Parties (COP) examines how the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is being implemented.

India is one of the few economies on track to meet its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC), or national plans to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, the Prime Minister added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Dubai on Friday for the COP28 summit, said he is looking forward to meaningful dialogue and cooperation for a sustainable future.

This summit will run from 30 November to 12 December. PM Modi has also reached Dubai to join it.

All economic commentators were taken aback by the GDP figures released on Thursday, as they had predicted a 6.8% growth rate this quarter.

Past administrations were criticized by PM Modi for behaving like "mai baap" of the people and basing their development plans on vote bank considerations.

Throwing light on the purpose of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, the Prime Minister said that it aims to learn from the experiences of the existing beneficiaries and also encompass those who have not yet availed the benefits.
