PM Modi Warns Against Congress: “It’s a Rootless Vine, Withering Those Who Support It”

With the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra scheduled in five phases, Prime Minister Modi, seeking his third consecutive term, faces a challenge from the INDIA bloc.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi cautioned the public against placing trust in the INDIA bloc, emphasizing that the Congress party, akin to a rootless vine, ultimately withers those who support it. Speaking at a Vijay Sankalp meeting in Parbhani, he attributed the lack of development in Maharashtra to the Congress, accusing it of hindering progress in the state and exacerbating issues in Jammu and Kashmir.

Highlighting the transformation in public discourse over the years, Prime Minister Modi noted a shift from concerns about cross-border terrorism to discussions about India’s response, particularly surgical strikes, underlining his government’s resolve in tackling security challenges.

Criticizing the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government for neglecting the concerns of Maharashtra, especially in crucial areas like irrigation, the Prime Minister emphasized the NDA government’s initiatives, such as the Jalyukt Shivar Scheme, which aimed to address water scarcity issues.

Pointing to the benefits accruing to Maharashtra from central schemes, Prime Minister Modi cited examples like significant discounts on medicines through Jan Aushadhi Kendras and the widespread distribution of Ujjwala gas connections, particularly highlighting the empowerment of women in this regard.

With the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra scheduled in five phases, Prime Minister Modi, seeking his third consecutive term, faces a challenge from the INDIA bloc, a coalition of opposition parties aiming to unseat the BJP. The results, slated for June 4, will determine the political landscape for the coming years.
