Parliament Security Breach

On Monday, a total of 78 opposition members of parliament were suspended from both houses, bringing the number of suspended members to 92 since December 15.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a Congress MP, and some opposition MPs were among 33 parliamentarians suspended from the Lok Sabha on December 18. Overall, 47 Members of Parliament have been suspended to date.

During the solemn proceedings commemorating the anniversary of a terrorist attack on Parliament, two individuals breached security and leaped into the assembly area.

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies are to blame for the unemployment of India's youth.

On December 13, two people jumped from the visitors' gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber, releasing yellow smoke canisters.

After the incident, the security of Parliament has been further tightened. Only MPs are being given entry at Makar Dwar. 

 The Home Ministry has constituted a SIT to investigate the matter and has ordered an investigation.
