A local armed group launched a daring attack on a Manipur Rifles outpost in Thoubal district on Saturday night, making off with a significant cache of weapons and ammunition.

Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) (JDU) has withdrawn its support from the N Biren Singh-led BJP government in Manipur. The party’s lone MLA, Md. Abdul Nasir, will now sit in the Opposition benches.
