Chandrayan 3

On Wednesday, August 23, as the sun rose on the Moon, ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 lander Vikram successfully touched down on the surface of the Moon.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group and veteran industrialist, also congratulated ISRO for this achievement.

ISRO has informed that Chandrayaan-3 lander is expected to touch down on the south pole of the Moon on 23 August at 6.04pm. Two-way communication established between Chandrayaan-2 orbiter and lander module Vikram on the lunar orbit

The lander module remarked "Thanks for the ride, mate" after separating from the propulsion system.

After the much awaited unveiling, social media was ablaze with pride and zeal. While others made jokes, some users enthusiastically uploaded memes and messages celebrating ISRO's labour of love.

If everything goes according to plan, Chandrayaan-3 will land at the south pole of the moon, a first for a spacecraft.
