The Delhi High Court rejected Vibhav Kumar's bail plea, citing concerns that granting bail could lead to tampering with evidence and influencing witnesses, as the investigation is ongoing

During the proceedings, the police strongly opposed granting bail, citing ongoing investigations and plans to file a chargesheet by July 16.

A Delhi court on Saturday extended the judicial custody of Bibhav Kumar until 22 June in connection with the Swati Maliwal assault case.

According to the FIR lodged against Bibhav Kumar, he allegedly assaulted Swati Maliwal by attacking her chest, stomach, and internal parts of her body.

The FIR against Kumar, registered on May 16, includes charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal intimidation, assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to disrobe, and attempt to commit culpable homicide.

The court was informed about the police's attempts to retrieve potentially deleted video evidence and their ongoing investigation into Kumar's activities post-dismissal.
