Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to the stunning tea gardens of Assam on Saturday, where he commended the hardworking community for their efforts.

PM Modi highlighted the park's biodiversity, emphasizing not only the famed one-horned rhinoceros but also the presence of numerous elephants and other species.

During his visit, the Prime Minister is slated to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for numerous development projects valued at Rs.18,000 crore, jointly undertaken by Assam and the central government.

Key among the inaugurated projects is the Kamakhya temple corridor, with a budget of ₹498 crore, aimed at enhancing amenities for visitors to pilgrimage sites.

Congress leaders have been accusing Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma of causing obstacles during the yatra.

On its eleventh day, 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' resumed from Barpeta. On January 14, Gandhi had set out on the yatra from Thoubal, Manipur.

Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has instructed the state police to file a case against Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gnadhi lauded police for doing their job well. "We know that police officers have done a good job and followed orders, with one person coming and lying down before the (yatra) bus. We are not against you..."

The chief minister added that during the assembly's upcoming budget session, which starts next month, the state government intends to introduce a bill to outlaw polygamy in the state.
