Kejriwal has filed a petition with the Delhi High Court challenging both his arrest and the trial court's March 22, 2024, decision of remand.

Rai further outlined plans, stating that “all people of Delhi” would gather at the Prime Minister's residence for a ‘gherao’.

Despite being unable to proceed further, the protestors disrupted traffic for a period, chanting slogans against the Narendra Modi-led central government.

Kejriwal's parents have been placed under house arrest, and the AAP is unable to get in touch with them.

Kejriwal was arrested the same day the Election Commission of India posted electoral bond data on its website. 

ED officials showed up at his home with a search warrant, just after the Delhi High Court denied the AAP leader interim protection in the Delhi excise policy case.
