In Future Bowlers Also Need To Be Hitters: Ravichandran Ashwin

Talking to the Jio cinema, Ashwin said, “Even if the Impact Player rule wasn’t there, scores would be this high. In my opinion, batters have more confidence and pitches everywhere have been standardized. In the future, all bowlers will need to be hitters. We know that no matter how well we bowl, we also need to be able to bat.”

Putting his opinion on the introduction of the impact player rule, Ravichandran Ashwin said that bowlers will also need to be good at hitting in T20s as the introduction of the impact player rule in IPL has made their role difficult.

Rajasthan Royal’s spinner joined the group of athletes, which also included India captain Rohit Sharma, who have voiced their disapproval of the rule in the current season of the lucrative league.

Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin stated after the four-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Eliminator clash on Wednesday at Narendra Modi Stadium.

On Friday, Rajasthan will now play Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the coming match, Rajasthan will attempt to advance to the Sunday final against  Kolkata Knight Riders.

This season, Ashwin has taken nine wickets for the team in 14 games. But Yuzvendra Chahal, a fellow spinner and colleague, has taken the most wickets (18), ranking sixth overall and most for the team.
