India-Russia Ties Strengthened: New Agreements Signed on Kudankulam Nuclear Project and Key Collaborations
On India-Russia relations, EAM Dr S Jaishankar during interaction with the Indian community in Moscow says, "Russia is a special partner in a few areas- defence, nuclear energy. Today, we signed some important agreements pertaining to future units of the Kudankulam Nuclear Project. Collaborations are done in areas of space and nuclear with countries with whom you have a high degree of trust."
Explosion Near Israeli Embassy in New Delhi: No Casualties Reported, Investigation Underway
Israel Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lior Haiat This evening (India time), there was an explosion near the Israeli embassy in New Delhi (100 meters from the embassy). There were no casualties as a result of the explosion and peace to all the envoys and embassy workers. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation by the local authorities in full cooperation with the Israeli security forces.
Prime Minister Modi and Saudi Crown Prince Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Stability in Telephone Conversation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The leaders reviewed progress in bilateral Strateic Partnership in follow-up to State visit of the Crown Prince to India in September 2023. They also discussed the forward-looking bilateral partnership agenda for the future. The leaders exchanged views on the current situation in West Asia. They shared deep concerns at terrorism, violence and the loss of civilian lives. Prime Minister reiterated India’s long-standing and principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue and called for continued humanitarian aid for the affected population. The two leaders agreed to work together for peace, security and stability in the region. They also emphasised the need for maintaining the maritime security and the freedom of navigation. Prime Minister conveyed greetings to Saudi Arabia on being selected as host for Expo 2030 and FIFA Football World Cup 2034. The two leaders agreed to remain in touch.

High Court of Himachal Pradesh has directed the State government to take steps at the earliest to transfer DGP Himachal Pradesh Police and SP Kangra to other posts where they "would not have any opportunities to influence the investigation" in FIRs lodged by businessman Nishant Kumar Sharma who alleged threat to him and his family and levelled allegations at the DGP.

Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification declaring December 26, 2023 as the date on which the provisions of Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Act, 2023 will come into force. The move comes days after the Parliament passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the recently concluded Winter Session.
