How Can You Defend Yourself Against Heat Waves?

Maintain proper hydration – Throughout the heat, maintaining proper hydration is the most important thing to remember. When traveling, always have a water bottle on hand, and drink fruit juices and smoothies to stay hydrated all day.

Always use sunscreen – During the summer, sunscreen is a must-have. Never forget to use sunscreen, even if you’re just hanging out at home. Moreover, remember that you should wait for at least 5 to 10 minutes before stepping outside after applying sunscreen.

Wear lightweight clothing and minimum makeup – In the summer, anytime you go out, try to dress in lightweight clothing and wear little or no makeup to allow your body and skin to breathe in the intense heat.

Eat light – It is advised to consume foods that are high in nutrients, minerals, and other healthy ingredients throughout the summer. Increase your intake of seasonal fruits, green vegetables, and cucumbers.

Never leave home without an umbrella or a pair of sunglasses while it’s sunny outside –  They will be useful for shielding oneself from the sun’s damaging rays.
