Believe it or not, Social media has got you wrapped around its little finger if you are an active user of social media platforms. A simple thread which has now become something almost impossible to unravel.
To cut this out or take an initiative, here are some potential methods to follow:-
If proper initiatives are taken, curating the ups and downs of life, or even finding yourself within without letting the city know about it, can be done with ease. Go on trips, read and study about your interests, and it can all be a vital part of this process. Who are you? And why are you? These should be major questions of life.
You are likely to remember the tea times or the lunch you had with your friends, family or other loved ones. Even though it can be a little hassle for you to get out of bed. Leave your phone. You would love to tell your kids about how you used to spend time with your family instead of how you used to text them.
It is certain that before social media, your favourite time pass would not have been scrolling through instant pleasure sites and excess dopamine-producing activities. Try to get back to the old times and perhaps develop some lively skills. Things which can matter to you in your life, like cooking, sewing or maybe makeup. And no, you do not necessarily need your phone for that.
Every joy in this world is acceptable if it is accompanied by limits. Set a timer or just know when your screentime is crossing limits. Assign a time for scrolling. If scrolling seems too easy on your phone, use some other devices or use your socials by logging in through Chrome, instead of just using the application. Make it difficult for you to reach.
The more you permit the applications to reach out to you, the deeper it will pave the way for you to be tempted by them. Limiting the notifications will stop you from making excuses to open the app again and again. Hence, controlled usage is appreciated.
