Nitish Reddy Out Of England Tour And Arshdeeep Out Of Manchester Test

The BCCI confirmed on Monday that a left knee injury has ruled out India’s all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy from the remaining two Tests against England.

Nitish will travel back home, and the team has extended its best wishes for his quick recovery, BCCI added.

Reddy missed the first Test but played in the second and third match, but had a subdued outing in Birmingham. But he performed well at Lord’s in both batting and bowling.

Reddy’s absence may pave the way for Shardul Thakur, who played in the first test.

In a further setback for India, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has been withdrawn from the fourth Test against England at Manchester.

BCCI stated, “He sustained an impact injury to his left thumb while bowling in the nets at a training session in Beckenham. The BCCI medical team is monitoring his progress.”

To cover for Arshdeep’s absence, the men’s selection committee has included Haryana pacer Anshul Kamboj to the squad. Kamboj has joined the team in Manchester.

Moreover, ahead of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy’s fourth Test at Old Trafford on July 23, India faces another setback.

Fast bowler Akash Deep is nursing an injury, adding strain on the squad.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah’s participation may be limited to just one of the remaining two Tests.

Having played in the first and last test, Bumrah is expected to return for the Manchester Test.

The player was on an eight-day break.

If a finger injury restricts Rishabh Pant to batting, the team may bring in Dhruv Jurel as the wicketkeeper.

After winning by 22 runs at Lord’s, England currently leads the series by 2-1.

Players Who Will Play the Fourth Test

The players who will be playing in the fourth test include Shubhman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Kuldeep Yadav, Anshul Kamboj.
