We don’t get the love, attention, and affection we need as children when we grow up in dysfunctional homes. This has additional effects on the adult relationships we enter into later in life. We frequently develop into more agreeable people in nature as a result of our need for ongoing love and care. To understand other people’s emotions and sentiments, we continually pay attention to their behaviour and activities.
We also pay close attention to how they see us. This frequently leads us to ignore our needs and boundaries in favour of pleasing others, using every resource at our disposal. But this behaviour could be detrimental to our own mental and emotional well-being.
Because we are afraid of being disliked, we frequently hesitate to say no to requests or activities we do not want to participate in. We also avoid establishing limits for others.
