A man from the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh studied law to establish his innocence after being falsely accused of murder twelve years earlier. Twelve years after being imprisoned for the murder of a police officer, he has now been cleared of all charges.
In 2011, Amit Chaudhary visited his sister’s in-laws in Baghpat when he was eighteen years old. Then, there was an attack on two police officers, one of whom died and the other of whom was hurt. Amit Chaudhary was one of the seventeen accused in this case.
At the time, Amit was pursuing graduation. Nevertheless, his career suffered and he was imprisoned as a result of being connected to a murder case.
He was freed on bond after serving two years in prison, and he went on to study law and LLM to personally handle his case. Twelve years later, the court found him not guilty of the police officer’s murder following a comprehensive investigation and examination.
Following his acquittal, he declared his intention to assist those who have been falsely accused and imprisoned. He promised to offer such people free assistance.
