‘Traffic Restrictions To Be Imposed To Ensure Management-Security During EVM Deposit’: Delhi Police

In order to maintain efficient administration and security during the process of depositing EVM/VVPAT machines in the strong room at the Commonwealth Games Village on May 25 following the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha election, Delhi Traffic Police said on Friday that there will be traffic restrictions.

The Delhi Traffic Police issued a notification stating that these restrictions would be in effect from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to avoid specified routes, utilize public transport, and plan their travel carefully to avoid delays.

“Alternative routes are provided, and up-to-date information can be accessed through Delhi Traffic Police’s various platforms. Cooperation and adherence to traffic rules are appreciated to ensure smooth traffic management,” the release said.

It stated commuters are urged to adopt following routes on May 25 to enable seamless traffic management in the area and an uninterrupted journey:

“The commuters coming from Sarai Kale Khan/MGM side towards NH-24 will go straight towards Akshardham flyover and will take left turn to reach towards Pusta Road / ITO / Vikas Marg to reach their destinations. The commuters coming from ITO/Pusta Road side will come upto Akshardham Flyover in front of Akshardham Temple and they will take a U-Turn after crossing Akshardham Flyover and will come on NH-24 to reach their destinations towards Delhi.”
Commuters have been requested to cooperate by avoiding/bypassing the above-mentioned roads, if possible, and make maximum use of public transport to reach their destinations.

travelers heading to airports, train stations, or ISBTs were warned to carefully plan their route and allow enough time for it.

On May 25, all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi will be up for election in a single phase. Vote will be counted on June 4.

Chandni Chowk, East Delhi, New Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi, South Delhi, and West Delhi are the seven parliamentary seats of Delhi.
