Rajasthan Royals’ cricketer Shimron Hetmyer has incurred a fine amounting to 10 per cent of his match fees.
This occurred as he violated the IPL Code of Conduct during the Qualifier 2 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday night.
According to an official statement released by the IPL on Saturday, Hetmyer committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
The statement further mentioned that Hetmyer acknowledged his breach of conduct and agreed to the penalty imposed by the Match Referee.
It emphasized that for Level 1 breaches, the Match Referee’s decision stands as final and obligatory.
In the aftermath of Hetmyer’s disciplinary action, attention has shifted to the enthralling encounter between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.
In a gripping showdown, the all-round talents of Shahbaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma played a pivotal role as Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a 36-run victory over Rajasthan Royals.
Shahbaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma’s combined efforts yielded five crucial wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad, thereby propelling their team into the highly anticipated title clash against Kolkata Knight Riders scheduled for Sunday.
As the IPL season reaches its climax, the significance of adhering to the Code of Conduct remains paramount, ensuring fair play and upholding the integrity of the sport amidst fierce competition.
