The Judgement Day: Maintanable Gyanvapi Suit not Barred by Places of Worship Act

The much awaited verdict is here finally today. The Court maintains the Gyanvapi Mosque suit as maintainable saying it is also not Barred by Places of Worship Act.

Previously the the maintainability of the plea was questioned by the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee. And the answer to the question clarifies that the Gyanvapi Mosque suit cannot be barred by Places of Worship Act and it is well maintainable.

Amid tightened security in the city, the  Varanasi Court today maintained that the suit which was filed by 5 Hindu ladies requesting  permission to perform daily worship of the Hindu deities located at an outer wall of the Gyanwapi mosque, is maintainable.

The court also added that the case was not barred by the Places of Worship Act neither by Waqf Act. Now the next hearing of the matter has been listed to be heard on 22nd of September 2022.

The order on the maintainability of the plea has been passed by the District Judge AK Vishvesh passed who also rejected the Order 7 Rule 11 application of Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee today during the verdict.
