The hearing on the plea challenging the Varanasi district court order that permitted Hindu prayers in the Gyanvapi mosque's cellar was postponed by the Allahabad High Court.

The Supreme Court registrar was approached by attorneys for the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, who requested an immediate hearing.

The court directed to arrange for pooja to be performed by the Hindu side and a poojari to be appointed by the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust.

According to Madan Mohan Yadav, the lawyer for the Hindu side, District Judge A K Vishvesh ordered that both the Muslim and Hindu parties submit an affidavit promising to keep the report confidential.

The much awaited verdict is here finally today. The Court maintains the Gyanvapi Mosque suit as maintainable saying it is also not Barred by Places of Worship Act.
