The resignation of Dara Singh Chauhan as a Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA required by-elections in the Ghosi district of Uttar Pradesh. Following his resignation, Chauhan joined the BJP. For the byelections, the BJP is running Chauhan against Sudhakar Singh of the SP. Singh served as a Ghosi MLA from 2012 to 2017, but since then, he has lost in each of the subsequent Assembly elections. Congress is supporting SP, an ally of INDIA. The deal with all other states…
While in Dhanpur, Tripura, Pratima Bhoumik of the BJP resigned in order to save her seat in the Lok Sabha, leaving the assembly vacant.
