The BJP-led NDA government has released an extra Rs 1,39,750 crore this month to expedite state-level development and capital spending.

On the historic day of the oath-taking ceremony for the third straight term of Modi, 72 leaders took oath. They were sworn in by the constitution of India to form a union cabinet.

"Congratulations to PM Modi on taking oath for the historic third term. Under his able leadership, the country has touched new heights of progress in the last 10 years,” Priti Adani further maintained.

Ramdas Athawale, a key figure in the NDA coalition, affirmed his ministerial position in the upcoming Modi 3.0 Cabinet. He attended a tea party at the Prime Minister's residence.

Today, Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony takes place at 7:15 PM at Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath to Prime Minister Modi and his Union Council of Ministers.

In order to obtain 99 seats, the Congress gave its best showing since 2009. Only 52 seats were gained by the party in 2019 (Rahul Gandhi resigned as leader), compared to just 44 in 2014.

Modi outlined his plans for a third term in his first statement following the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday night.

With Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) Chief Nitish Kumar, President of Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ram Vilas), Chirag Paswan, and Hindustan Awam Morcha(HAM) President, Jitan Ram Majhi will also attend the meeting. 

It was believed that the NDA held a lead in more than 290 seats. With more over 230 seats, the INDIA bloc held the advantage.

In Lucknow, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, seeking a third term, is leading over SP's Ravidas Mehrotra and BSP candidate Sarwar Malik.
