In a historic first, 17 female cadets passed out from the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, Pune, on Friday.

The NDA is India’s premier tri-services training institute.

A total of 1341 cadets took part in the parade. Of these, 336 cadets belonged to the passing out course.

These pioneering cadets will now join their respective pre-commissioning academies. Their graduation marks a transformative chapter in the NDA’s history.

The 148th course completed its training with a grand Passing Out Parade (POP) at the iconic Khetarpal Parade Ground.

Cadets marched past the Quarterdeck with precision and discipline in a magnificent display.

Proud parents, dignitaries, school children, civilians, and armed forces personnel, both serving and retired, attended the event.

Former Indian Army chief and ex-union minister General (Dr) VK Singh (Retd), now the Governor of Mizoram, served as the Reviewing Officer for the Spring Term-2025 POP.

Lt Col Praveen Kumar Tiwari, the Adjutant, rode his horse ‘Reliant Robin’ and supervised the parade. Academy Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi of ‘G’ Squadron commanded the ceremony.

The Reviewing Officer awarded the President’s Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals to the top three cadets in order of merit.
