The Supreme Court is schedule to hear on Monday the bail pleas filed by senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in connection with the alleged liquor policy case.
According to the causelist on the apex court’s website, Justices BR Gavai and KV Vishwanathan will resume proceedings on July 29.
In the previous hearing, the Supreme Court issued notices to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED), requesting their responses to Sisodia’s bail applications. The court had stated, “Issue notice returnable on July 29. We will have this on Monday after two weeks,” during the July 16 session.

Sisodia’s legal team argue that the senior AAP leader detaine for 16 months while the trial was minimal progress since October 2023.
On October 30 of the previous year, the Supreme Court had denied bail to Sisodia but indicated that he could reapply if the trial’s pace did not improve over the subsequent three months.
Earlier, on April 30, Special Judge Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Court had refused Sisodia’s request for regular bail for the second time. The trial court noted that delays in the proceedings were largely due to actions attributable to Sisodia, dismissing his claims of undue delay.
Prevention of Money Laundering Act
The Delhi High Court had also denied Sisodia bail, stating he did not meet the criteria for bail under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, which includes the triple test for corruption cases and twin conditions under PMLA.
Sisodia challenged this decision by filing special leave petitions with the Supreme Court. Last month, the apex court disposed of Sisodia’s pleas regarding bail in the corruption and money laundering cases, following an undertaking by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that the final charge sheet in the liquor policy case would be filed by July 3.
Meanwhile, on Friday, a Delhi court extended Sisodia’s judicial custody until July 31. He appeared via video conferencing from Tihar Jail, following the expiration of his previous judicial custody period.
