Supreme Court Gives Relief To Noida Engineer Yadav Singh In Corruption Case, Stays Arrest

Former Noida engineer Yadav Singh has currently got relief from the Supreme Court as the apex Court issued notice to CBI on the petition filed by Yadav Singh and sought reply. The Court has stayed the arrest after hearing the petition. The bench of Justices Hrishikesh Roy and Prashant Kumar Mishra gave the order.

During hearing of the case, Yadav Singh’s senior lawyer NK Kaul told court that warrant has been issued by court after supplementary charge sheet was filed by CBI. There is a fear that CBI may arrest him in future fter which Supreme Court gave protection from arrest to Yadav Singh.

The next hearing will be done after four weeks. Senior lawyer NK Kaul said that Supreme Court granted bail to Yadav Singh in the case after being in jail for more than three years, now the fear of his arrest increased once again after filing new charge sheet.

In this corruption case, Yadav Singh had allegedly got work of 1280 maintenance contracts worth Rs 954 crore done in 8 days in December 2011. Please note that Allahabad court had refused to accept the bail bond in the supplementary charge sheet under Section 88. The High Court said in its order that Yadav Singh is not entitled to the benefit of Section 88 of CrPC.

He can file regular bail petition. Along with this, the court had rejected the petition filed by Yadav Singh. On January 13, 2012, an FIR was registered in Gautam Buddha Nagar on charges of fraud, embezzlement and corruption. Later, the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court handed over the investigation to CBI. Three charge sheets against the petitioner in different cases were filed by CBI. Later Yadav Singh got bail from CBI.
