Allahabad High Court Grants Major Relief To BJP MLA Dara Singh Chauhan

The Allahabad High Court has halted the arrest of BJP MLA Dara Singh Chauhan, providing significant relief to him. The court has imposed a stay on Dara Singh Chauhan’s arrest until July 30th. This stay comes in response to an FIR filed against Dara Singh Chauhan during the 2022 assembly elections.

The FIR was lodged at Ghosi police station in Maun, alleging violations of election code of conduct, breach of COVID-19 guidelines under IPC sections 171 H, 188, 269, 270, Disaster Management Act 2005, Section 51, and Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897.

The case was registered following a complaint by Ghosi station house officer Rajesh Kumar Prabhakar on February 2, 2022, against Dara Singh Chauhan and hundreds of his supporters.

Dara Singh Chauhan contested as a candidate from the Ghosi assembly constituency for 2022 assembly elections representing Samajwadi Party.

He filed petition in Allahabad High Court seeking a stay on his arrest. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for July 30th. Information about the stay order was confirmed by Dara Singh Chauhan’s lawyer, Ashok Pandey. The order was issued by Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh’s single bench.
