Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi made her Instagram debut on Thursday, sharing the first look of her upcoming memoir, Belonging: A Journey of Love. The book will release worldwide on November 10, 2026.
In her first Instagram post, Gandhi expressed gratitude for sharing the book with readers. “It is a story of love, duty, loss, and finding a place to belong. I look forward to sharing it with you,” she wrote.
The accompanying video shows Gandhi receiving the first copies of her memoir and sharing sweets with her daughter, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The two also embraced during the moment.
Gandhi had not maintained a social media account before joining Instagram. Her account has attracted more than 10,700 followers, and she follows her children, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, along with the Indian National Congress.
Alfred A. Knopf will publish the memoir globally, while HarperCollins India will handle its Indian release. Pre-orders are now open.

The announcement follows reports that Penguin Random House India declined to publish the memoir over disagreements about editorial changes.
The publisher rejected that account, clarifying that it remained willing to publish the book and that claims linking its publishing arrangement to the author’s response to editorial recommendations did not accurately reflect the circumstances.
Penguin Random House India said fact-checking and editorial recommendations formed part of its standard publishing process. It declined to comment further on confidential discussions with the author.
