Sisodia Returns Home To See His Ailing Wife After, Delhi High Court Grants Interim Relief

Manish Sisodia, the former Delhi deputy chief minister, turned up at his house from Tihar jail on Saturday after obtaining interim relief to see his unwell wife, who was hospitalized after her health declined prior to the AAP leader’s arrival.

Seema Sisodia, Sisodia’s wife, was hospitalised due to illness, according to AAP sources. She has multiple sclerosis and was hospitalised just a few months ago.

“She was taken to the emergency ward of LNJP Hospital. Sisodia reached AB-17, Mathura Road, to meet his ailing wife at 9.38 am in a prison van. He was taken inside the house amid tight security.

“But he could not meet his wife as her health deteriorated and she had to be hospitalized,” a party source said.

The Delhi High Court allowed the AAP leader, who was arrested in connection with alleged irregularities in the city government’s excise policy, to visit his ailing wife at his residence on Friday.

Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma directed the Tihar jail superintendent to transport Sisodia to his residence, where he is permitted to meet with his wife between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

According to a senior prison official, Sisodia was taken to his residence around 9 a.m. under security cover. He must report back at 5 p.m.

Sisodia was detained on February 26 by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for his alleged role in the scam and has been detained since. On May 30, the high court denied him bail in the CBI case.

He was arrested on March 9 in connection with an ED investigation and is currently in judicial custody.

The high court made it absolutely clear that Sisodia shall not interact with the media or any other person other than his family members, nor shall he use a phone or the Internet.
