Sachin Pilot To Launch Own Political Party Ahead Of Rajasthan Polls

Ahead of elections in Rajasthan, Former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot is about to launch his own regional outfit ‘Pragatisheel Congress’ on June 11, his father Rajesh Pilot’s death anniversary.

Pilot will make announcement in Jaipur

According to sources Pilot is all set for official launch of ‘Pragatisheel Congress’ on coming Sunday. Sachin Pilot was in Jabalpur with Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha on Monday. The former Deputy Chief Minister will be making announcement in Jaipur after holding a rally.

Pilot demanded probe against Lalit Modi

On April 11, Sachin Pilot was on a fast against Vasundhara Raje-led government and Gehlot’s inaction. A month later on May 11, he went on a 125km padyatra from Ajmer to Jaipur to bring to light the corruption and paper leaks in state. He even gave the state government and ultimatum of 15 days to move the corruption cases or he would start a state-wide protest. He also demanded a probe against Lalit Modi who is accused of money laundering and tax evasion.

Pilot claimed for the top post in 2020

In 2020 Sachin Pilot openly claimed for the top post and also threatened to move out of party with the support of 30 MLAs. However the Chief Minister persuaded MLAs supporting Pilot to switch sides. At end of the political crisis Gehlot Government had support of 125-MLA in 200 member house where as only 19 MLA supported Pilot.
