In a significant development, the Bidhannagar City Police have arrested two individuals in connection with an audio clip released by Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh.
The clip purportedly reveals a plot involving attacks on junior doctors protesting against the rape and murder of a colleague, allegedly orchestrated to malign the West Bengal government and the ruling TMC.

The police arrested Kalatan Dasgupta, editor of the CPI(M) youth wing’s publication, and Sanjiv Das, who reportedly affiliates with an ultra-Left group.
Authorities apprehended Das from Jadavpur in Kolkata late Friday night, and they arrested Dasgupta on Saturday.
The audio clip, which surfaced on Friday evening, allegedly suggests that Left and ultra-Left factions were planning to attack the protesting doctors and frame the state government for the violence.
Ghosh, who released the clip, claimed it was sourced from within these organizations.
However, IANS reported that the agency could not independently verify the audio’s authenticity.
Dasgupta, reacting to his arrest, denounced it as part of a larger conspiracy aimed at diverting attention from the genuine public outcry over the assault on the junior doctors, which has attracted international attention.
Ghosh, in his appeal accompanying the audio release, urged the administration and police to prevent outsiders from infiltrating the protest site at Swastha Bhavan, the state health department headquarters.
He further emphasized the need to safeguard the ongoing sit-in by the West Bengal Junior Doctor’s Forum (WBJDF), which entered its fifth day on Saturday.
The protest, which began earlier in the week, has seen a surge of support from the public, voluntary organizations, and university students.
Supporters have been providing essential supplies, including food and water, to the protesting doctors as they continue their demonstration demanding justice and improved safety measures.
The arrests have intensified the political and social discourse surrounding the protest, as authorities and various stakeholders await further developments.
