The Tata Group announced the passing of Ratan Tata, its Chairman Emeritus and one of India’s most distinguished industrialists, prompting an outpouring of condolences.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his sorrow, calling Tata a “legendary industrialist and true nationalist.” He emphasized that Tata would “live on in our hearts” and noted, “Time cannot take away Ratan Tata Ji from his beloved nation.” In a post on X, Shah praised Tata’s dedication to national development and his ability to inspire dreams among millions.
Prominent political figures, from Union Ministers to Chief Ministers, quickly took to social media to pay their respects. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh remarked on Tata’s monumental contributions to the Indian economy, offering his deepest condolences to Tata’s family and admirers.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge lamented the loss of “an invaluable son of India,” praising Tata’s commitment to inclusive growth and ethical leadership.
Union ministers shared heartfelt memories. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari reflected on their close personal relationship, noting Tata’s humility and respect for everyone. He added that Tata’s contributions to the economy transformed countless lives and that his loss represents a significant sorrow for the nation.
Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal praised Tata’s leadership in achieving remarkable success for the Tata Group and strengthening India’s global presence. He highlighted Tata’s humanitarian contributions, which earned him the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath characterized Tata as the “megastar of Indian industry”. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav noted the void left by Tata’s departure.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called him a foremost leader and philanthropist. She stressed that his demise is an irreparable loss.
Further more, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin praised Tata’s visionary leadership and ethical business practices. He stated, “India has lost a giant.” Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh acknowledged Tata’s profound impact on industry and philanthropy. On the other hand, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai remembered Tata’s contributions to education and human welfare.
