Rajeshwar Singh Honoured With ‘Excellence In Political & Public Life’ Award At House Of Lords

UK India Legal Partnership (UKILP) has conferred the ‘Excellence in Political and Public Life’ Award on Rajeshwar Singh, MLA from Sarojini Nagar and former Indian Police Service officer.

The prestigious ceremony took place at the iconic House of Lords, Palace of Westminster, London- a venue revered as a beacon of democracy and constitutional heritage.

Reflecting on the honour, Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude, calling it a deeply humbling experience.

“With gratitude to the Almighty, my journey has been one of deep purpose and learning—beginning as a law enforcer, evolving into a law interpreter, and now serving as a lawmaker,” he said.

He dedicated the award to the principles of constitutionalism and to the people of Sarojini Nagar, whose trust and support fuel his public mission.

Celebrating Inclusive Development

Singh’s award is a recognition of his impactful work in transforming Sarojini Nagar, where his initiatives in digital education, rural-urban development, and women’s empowerment have garnered nationwide praise.

His efforts symbolise inclusive, scalable governance grounded in integrity and innovation.

According to UKILP, Singh’s leadership exemplifies how public service can be a powerful tool for change when driven by purpose.

The ceremony was graced by several notable dignitaries.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, Lord Virendra Sharma, Lord Rami Ranger, and former Additional Solicitor General Pinky Anand were present to celebrate the occasion.

Other attendees included Apoorva Agarwal, Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh, as well as judicial representatives from Australia and Dubai, and senior government officials from India.

The evening also recognised prominent personalities with special honours.

UKILP also presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mukul Rohatgi, former Attorney General of India, and esteemed legal luminary Raian Karanjawala.

UKILP felicitated music sensation Stebin Ben for his rising contribution to Indian music.

For Singh, the evening was not only a personal milestone but also a collective celebration of his constituency’s journey on the global stage.

“To see the transformation of Sarojini Nagar acknowledged internationally is a moment of great pride,” he said.

Singh extended sincere thanks to the UKILP and Shri Ajit Mishra for the honour and acknowledged all those who continue to support the cause of people-centric governance.

This award reaffirms that dedicated public service, when combined with vision and values, can bring about real change and global recognition.
