PM Modi: NDA Government Has Redefined Women-Led Development Over 11 Years

The government now recognises women not just as recipients of support, but as central drivers of national development.

With women and children forming nearly 67.7% of India’s population, policymakers actively prioritise their empowerment as both a strategic necessity and a matter of social justice.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the NDA government’s 11-year journey as a turning point in India’s approach to women-led development.

On completing over a decade in power, PM Modi emphasised how targeted welfare schemes have empowered women to become active contributors to national growth.

Taking to social media platform X, the Prime Minister stated, “Over the last 11 years, the NDA Government has redefined women-led development. Various initiatives, from ensuring dignity through Swachh Bharat to financial inclusion via Jan Dhan accounts, the focus has been on empowering our Nari Shakti.”

Transformative Schemes Driving Empowerment

Among the flagship programmes highlighted were the Ujjwala Yojana, which delivered clean cooking fuel to millions of households, and MUDRA loans, which enabled women entrepreneurs to realise their business aspirations.

PM Modi also spotlighted the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, noting that the government has increasingly allotted homes in women’s names to provide them with both security and a sense of ownership.

He also acknowledged the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme as a powerful driver of social change, crediting it with creating a nationwide culture of respect and protection for the girl child.

PM Modi noted that women have been excelling in every field — from science and technology to sports, education, the armed forces, and the startup ecosystem.

“In all sectors, women are inspiring the nation,” The Prime Minister said.

To showcase the impact, the Prime Minister shared an infographic detailing key achievements and reach of various women-centric schemes introduced since 2014, including improvements in sanitation, housing, banking access, and digital literacy.

A government press release reinforced the sentiment, describing Nari Shakti as a national mission.

It outlined how the administration’s lifecycle-based approach has driven interventions in health, education, sanitation, and economic inclusion.

As India moves into the Amrit Kaal, the government envisions Nari Shakti as the unstoppable force shaping a stronger, more inclusive future.
