Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded voters in Bihar for delivering a ’65-volt shock’ to the RJD and Congress during the first phase of Assembly elections.
Addressing a rally in Sitamarhi, he said the youth and women of Bihar had decisively supported development and the NDA, marking a clear choice for progress.
“In the first phase of polling, the proponents of jungle raj received a 65-volt shock,” PM Modi said.
He criticised the RJD for promoting slogans encouraging children to aspire to criminality, contrasting it with the NDA’s focus on education, sports, and start-ups.
“Jungle raj means guns, cruelty, bitterness, and corruption. Leaders like Karpoori Thakur and Bhola Paswan Shastri envisioned social justice, but that era was derailed during the RJD rule,” the Prime Minister added.
PM Modi accused the RJD-Congress alliance of destroying Bihar’s industrial ecosystem, saying they did not establish any major factories, hospitals, or sugar mills during their tenure. He emphasised that the NDA had reversed this trend, improving roads, rail and air connectivity, and reviving manufacturing.
The Prime Minister highlighted efforts to support sugarcane farmers through ethanol production and the reopening of the Riga sugar mill, promising that the NDA would continue to strengthen industrial growth.
PM Modi invoked Bihar’s cultural and spiritual heritage, particularly Sita and Ayodhya, as a source of inspiration for progress. He referenced the Supreme Court verdict in Ayodhya and the development of the Ramayana Circuit, including a direct rail service from Sitamarhi to Ayodhya.
“Your son-in-law is Lord Rama, and the magnificent temple built in Ayodhya honours him. Now, the world will see the grandeur of Mother Sita’s maternal home at Punoura Dham,” he said, linking cultural pride with Bihar’s future development.
He urged voters to punish those who insult local traditions and festivals by supporting NDA candidates. “Cast your vote in favour of the NDA to ensure development and protect Bihar’s heritage,” PM Modi concluded, reinforcing the connection between electoral choice and the state’s progress.
The rally underlined the NDA’s campaign strategy of combining governance record, development promises, and cultural symbolism to appeal to voters ahead of the final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections on 11 November.
