Survey Shows Over 88% Indians Trust PM Modi On National Interest & Security

A recent News18 survey conducted across India shows that over 88 per cent of respondents have confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi on issues related to the nation’s interest, particularly in the context of ongoing tensions with Pakistan.

The survey took place amid escalated India-Pakistan hostilities following Operation Sindoor, India’s retaliatory strike against terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

India launched Operation Sindoor in response to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack, which killed Indian civilians and security personnel.

According to the survey, which included 14,671 respondents from across the country, 88.06 per cent expressed trust in PM Modi’s handling of national interest matters.

Meanwhile, 11.94 per cent of those surveyed stated they had no trust in the Prime Minister on such issues.

The survey asked respondents, “Do you believe that PM Modi has consistently taken a strong stand when it comes to national security?”

News18 conducted the survey over two days, on 6th and 7th May 2025, using advanced polling technology.

They made the survey accessible through News18’s websites, social media platforms, and television channels via QR codes.

PM Modi’s Strong Stance On Operation Sindoor

Last week, during a public address in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi reiterated his firm position against terrorism emanating from Pakistan.

He warned that India will continue to respond decisively to any terrorist acts on Indian soil.

Speaking about Operation Sindoor, the Prime Minister declared, “We entered terrorist camps and destroyed them in Pakistan. Our Armed Forces showed such courage that the Pakistan Army ended up begging to stop the war.”

He further cautioned those hostile elements, saying, “I want to tell enemies who begged us to stop during Operation Sindoor — do not be fooled, Operation Sindoor is not over yet.”

PM Modi emphasised that India will deliver a befitting response to every terrorist attack, with the timing, manner, and terms of such action determined solely by the Armed Forces.

The survey results highlight a significant level of public faith in PM Modi’s approach to national security and India’s foreign policy, especially at a time when tensions remain high along the Line of Control and other border areas.

With the country rallying behind its leadership, PM Modi’s firm response and strategic handling of cross-border terrorism continue to reinforce his position as a leader focused on safeguarding India’s sovereignty and national interest.
