Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is preparing to conduct a raid against him. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Gandhi stated that he had been informed by sources within the ED about the potential raid and expressed his readiness to cooperate, saying he was “waiting with open arms.”
Moreover, in his post, Gandhi referenced his recent speech in the Lok Sabha, delivered on July 29, during a debate on the Union Budget 2024. He further suggested that the upcoming raid was a response to his critical remarks about the budget. “Apparently, 2 in 1 didn’t like my Chakravyuh speech. ED ‘insiders’ tell me a raid is a planning. Waiting with open arms, @dir_ed. Chai and biscuits on me,” Gandhi wrote.
