PM Modi Reviews Bullet Train, Unveils Tribal Development Push

Prime Minister Narendra Modi began a packed day-long visit to Gujarat on Saturday. He started the trip by reviewing India’s flagship Ahmedabad-Mumbai High-Speed Bullet Rail Corridor.

After landing in Surat from Delhi, PM Modi went straight to the under-construction Surat Bullet Train Station.

He assessed the progress of the ambitious bullet train project.

From Surat, PM Modi travelled to the Devmogara Temple in the Narmada district. He offered prayers at the temple, which holds deep cultural significance among local tribal communities.

His visit underscored the government’s continued efforts to reach out to tribal regions.

In the afternoon, PM Modi attended a major public programme. The event marked the 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon ‘Dharti Aaba’ Birsa Munda.

He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a diverse set of welfare and infrastructure projects. He addressed a large and enthusiastic gathering at the event.

Boosting Tribal Youth

PM Modi said his government is working tirelessly to preserve and promote tribal culture. “We are building several tribal museums across India, including in Gujarat.

Museums have also emerged in Chhattisgarh and Ranchi. We want to connect the new generation with tribal languages, songs, traditions, and their vast knowledge of nature,” he said.

He launched a strong attack on the Congress, accusing it of decades of neglect. “Congress left tribal communities to fend for themselves.

He said, “They suffered from poor education, limited healthcare, and weak connectivity. For the BJP, tribals are a priority. We are committed to delivering justice and development.”

PM Modi highlighted the transformative changes in Gujarat’s tribal belt. “There were no science-stream schools in tribal regions earlier.

When I was Chief Minister, I met children who dreamed of becoming scientists and doctors.

Today, there are over 10,000 science-stream schools in the tribal belt, along with colleges, hostels, and universities,” he noted.

He added that tribal youth are now excelling in academics and sports. “We are expanding sports infrastructure and supporting tribal farmers through targeted reforms,” he said.

At Dediapada, PM Modi unveiled key initiatives aimed at tribal empowerment and rural development.
