‘PM Of Bharat’ Remark Sparks New Controversy After Letter With ‘President Of Bharat’

After the G20 invitation with ‘President of Bharat’ remark sparked controversy, comes in light another document of the Prime Minister’s visit to Indonesia on Wednesday and Thursday for the 20th ASEAN-India Summit and the 18th East Asia Summit using ‘Prime Minister of Bharat’ instead of Prime Minister of India

BJP’s National Spokesperson Sambit Patra shared the letter on X(formerly known as Twitter). Taking a dig at the Modi government Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “Look at how confused the Modi government is! The Prime Minister of Bharat at the 20th ASEAN-India summit. All this drama just because the Opposition got together and called itself INDIA.”

In the invitation for an official banquet during the G20 Summit in New Delhi extended by President Murmu to state government leaders and CM stirred a controversy, instead of India, ‘Bharat’ was written on the document.

The title “Bharat” was used instead of the traditional “President of India,” which led to suspicion in political circles, especially among members of the Opposition INDIA bloc.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai welcomed the decision to change the name “India” to “Bharat” on the invitations and questioned why INDIA alliance has any objection to it.

Sandeep Dixit, a leader of the Congress, stated that names don’t really matter and suggested that the BJP to concentrate on important topics for the welfare of general public.

Speaking to reporters in Bhopal, Sandeep Dixit said, “If you read our Constitution it is written ‘India that is Bharat’. ‘Bharat’ word is prevalent in many references and cultures. It is a matter of language. I don’t think names make much difference. BJP should focus on development, inflation, employment, and corruption.”
