PM Modi Pays Homage To Goddess Katyayani On Navratri’s Sixth Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly greeted citizens on the sixth day of the Shardiya Navratri festival, dedicated to Goddess Katyayani, the fierce and compassionate form of Maa Durga.

Taking to the social media platform X, the Prime Minister offered prayers at the feet of Devi Maa, seeking her divine grace for the nation’s well-being.

“Millions of salutations at the feet of Devi Ma! I pray to her that she blesses everyone with indomitable courage and excellent health. May her grace infuse self-strength into everyone’s life,” he posted.

The Prime Minister’s message reflected the essence of Navratri — a time of devotion, spiritual renewal, and the triumph of good over evil.

Greetings from State Leaders

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also extended his greetings on the auspicious occasion.

In his message on X, he said, “The sixth day of the holy Navratri is dedicated to the worship and adoration of Mother Katyayani, the sixth form of Adishakti Maa Durga. Worshipping Mother Katyayani dispels fear, disease, and suffering, and brings health to life.” He prayed for the goddess’s blessings upon all.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also shared her wishes, paying homage to the goddess and highlighting her virtues of compassion and courage.

“At Mother’s feet, my prayer is that by her grace, every home be filled with happiness, prosperity, and love. May her blessings continuously guide us on the path of Delhi’s progress, service, and cultural values,” she posted.

The Significance of Goddess Katyayani

Devotees revere Goddess Katyayani as the slayer of the demon Mahishasura, and she represents one of the nine forms of Maa Durga worshipped during Navratri.

Also known for her valour and protective nature, she symbolises strength, courage, and righteousness.

According to scriptures, she holds a sword and a lotus, offering blessings and protection to her devotees.

Mounted on a lion, she embodies the triumph of truth and the eradication of negativity.

Moreover, people across India celebrate Navratri, meaning ‘nine nights’, with devotion and fervour.

Each day honours one form of the goddess, symbolising spiritual evolution and divine energy.

PM Modi’s message on this sacred day underscored the festival’s timeless message — to draw upon inner strength, cultivate courage, and embrace the blessings of Devi Maa for a life of health, harmony, and resilience.
