The Significance of Goddess Katyayani
Devotees revere Goddess Katyayani as the slayer of the demon Mahishasura, and she represents one of the nine forms of Maa Durga worshipped during Navratri.
Also known for her valour and protective nature, she symbolises strength, courage, and righteousness.
According to scriptures, she holds a sword and a lotus, offering blessings and protection to her devotees.
Mounted on a lion, she embodies the triumph of truth and the eradication of negativity.
Moreover, people across India celebrate Navratri, meaning ‘nine nights’, with devotion and fervour.
Each day honours one form of the goddess, symbolising spiritual evolution and divine energy.
PM Modi’s message on this sacred day underscored the festival’s timeless message — to draw upon inner strength, cultivate courage, and embrace the blessings of Devi Maa for a life of health, harmony, and resilience.
