PM Modi Meets Ankola Fruit Seller Mohini Gowda In Sirsi Visit; Gesture Applauded By Public

During his campaign visit to Sirsi in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi had an encounter with Mohini Gowda, a fruit seller from Ankola. This chance meeting garnered attention as PM Modi praised Gowda for her admirable actions, which have made her a local hero. Gowda’s unique approach to packaging fruits by wrapping them in leaves at the Ankola Bus Stand reflects her commitment to eco-friendly practices. What distinguishes her even more is her dedication to cleanliness; despite customers discarding the leaves in the bus stand, she diligently collects and disposes of them in nearby dustbins.

A viral video capturing Gowda’s efforts to maintain cleanliness around the bus stand further spotlighted her exemplary behavior. Despite the distance, she takes it upon herself to ensure that the surroundings remain clean. Her actions have earned her widespread recognition and admiration, with many commending her selfless dedication to keeping her community clean.

PM Modi’s encounter with Gowda was a testament to her impact on the local community. During their meeting, PM Modi exchanged greetings with folded hands, a gesture reciprocated by Gowda. This simple yet meaningful interaction underscored the respect and appreciation for Gowda’s efforts to make a positive difference in her community.

Following his meeting with Gowda, PM Modi addressed a rally in Sirsi, where he highlighted the government’s efforts to empower marginalized communities. He emphasized the historic representation of MPs and MLAs from SC, ST, and OBC communities in the ruling government, comprising 60% of the Union Council of Ministers. PM Modi also lauded the BJP government’s initiatives to uplift backward districts, transforming over 100 previously labeled as backward into Aspirational Districts. He noted that these efforts have uplifted more than 25 crore people from poverty over the past decade.

Overall, the encounter between PM Modi and Mohini Gowda symbolized the recognition of ordinary citizens who are making extraordinary contributions to their communities. Gowda’s dedication to cleanliness and eco-friendly practices serves as an inspiring example for others to follow, embodying the spirit of community service and social responsibility.
