On Tuesday, BJP MP Locket Chatterjee filed her nomination for the Hooghly Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami accompanied Locket Chatterjee during the filing of her nomination.
Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the nomination rally of Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate, Locket Chatterjee, from the Hooghly Constituency.
This move underscores the party’s commitment to fostering inter-state political cooperation and showcasing solidarity across its ranks.
Dhami’s presence not only supports Chatterjee’s candidacy but also reflects BJP’s strategy of mobilizing regional leadership for stronger electoral campaigns.
Prior to the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, Dhami convened with Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma in West Bengal.
Taking to X, Uttarakhand CM posted, “During my trip to West Bengal, I had the opportunity to meet the honorable Chief Minister of Rajasthan in Kolkata. On this occasion, he was also invited for the Char Dham Yatra 2024 starting from 10 May.”
CM Dhami arrived in Kolkata on Monday night as part of the BJP’s election campaign in West Bengal. Upon his arrival, the Chief Minister was warmly welcomed by party supporters and leaders at the Kolkata airport.
Voting in six Lok Sabha constituencies in Bengal took place in the first and second phases on 19 April and 26 April. Polling for the remaining parliamentary seats is scheduled for 7 May, 13 May, 20 May, 25 May and 1 June. The counting of votes will be on 4 June.
