Phase 3 Lok Sabha Polls Nominations To Start Tomorrow: Election Commission

The Election Commission said on Friday that nominations for the third round of the 2024 general elections would be accepted.

“Nominations for the third phase of General Elections 2024 will begin tomorrow,” the poll commission said on Thursday.

On May 7, phase 3 voting will take place in 94 constituencies across 12 states and Union territories (UT). The vote counting will be done on June 4.

Voters nationwide will go to the polls on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1 for the seven phases of the Lok Sabha elections.

Tomorrow, the ECI announced, “the Gazette notification for the 94 parliamentary constituencies (PCs) across 12 states and union territories holding elections for the Lok Sabha 2024 will be released.”

It further stated that notification of postponed poll in Madhya Pradesh’s 29-Betul (ST) PC will be issued tomorrow.

The BSP candidate’s death caused the Lok Sabha election in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul seat, scheduled for April 26, to be postponed.

Following the death of the BSP candidate on April 9, the returning officer declared the election to be deferred in accordance with Section 52 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal are the states and union territories that are included in Phase 3.

Phase 3 nominations must be submitted by April 19 in order for them to be reviewed by April 20.

April 22 is the last day to withdraw names.
