Zodiac Matches That Make The Best Couples
The RJD in Bihar celebrated the 76th birthday of Lalu Prasad, the party’s founding president, on Sunday despite the oppressive heat.
In various sections of the city, RJD workers organised feasts for the underprivileged, and top officials who personally welcomed their leader joined him in savouring a massive cake that weighed 76 pounds and was sliced in front of followers and family.
The fact that the party is now in power and that the septuagenarian supremo was present added to the event’s uniqueness, as opposed to previous years when his incarceration or ill health prevented him from celebrating his birthday with his people.
The former chief minister of Bihar is moving into a mansion that the state government gave to his wife Rabri Devi, who took over as chief minister after him. It is located at 10, Circular Road.
At midnight, Prasad cut a tiny cake in front of family members, including his younger son Tejashwi Yadav, the state’s deputy chief minister, to kick off the celebrations.
Rohini Acharya, who dazzled everyone last year by giving one of her kidneys to Prasad and has travelled down from Singapore to see the sight of her father resurrection, physically as well as politically, sent out a few of moving tweets.
Tej Pratap Yadav, the doting eldest son and current minister but still a rebel, decided to spend the day in Barsana, the Uttar Pradesh town named for his favourite god, Lord Krishna.
Yadav posted on Twitter a video of himself wishing Prasad a happy birthday and pictures taken at the well-known Radharani temple, where he cut a massive cake and asked the gods for their blessings.
Prasad’s Twitter feed provided abundant evidence of his political heft and ability to weather several storms.
The sick septuagenarian sent birthday greetings to several people, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin, and Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren.
Each of them got replies befitting the relationship Prasad shared with them. Soren, who is roughly the same age as his eldest child, got a fatherly “khush raho” (stay blessed) by way of a reply.
Stalin, who had prefixed his greetings with Tamil honorific “Thiru”, got a thank you in English, followed by “samajik nyay zindabad” in Hindi, underscoring the commitment to social justice that the Tamil Nadu CM’s DMK shares with the RJD.
The birthday tweet from Nitish Kumar, who is now Prasad’s ally, must have been the most captivating sight for the Bihar population, though. They have known one another for almost five decades, and their previous rivalry is legendary.
Prasad has generously backed Kumar, the JD(Usupreme )’s leader, in his efforts to unite all opposition parties ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
In order to wish Prasad a happy birthday, JD(U) national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh “Lalan,” who has evolved from a blistering opponent to a close friend, paid a visit to 20 Circular Road.
