Nobody Will Lose Citizenship Irrespective Of Religion: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that due to Citizenship (Amendment) Act any Indian regardless of religion will lose their citizenship on Monday.

He accused DMK and opposition Congress of “creating confusion” on the matter.

Rajnath was addressing the public following a roadshow in this area in favor of KP Ramalingam, the party’s Namakkal candidate for the Lok Sabha elections on April 19. The building of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the repeal of Article 370, and the CAA were examples of the kind of guarantees the BJP consistently carried out, he said.

He said, “We promised a citizenship act, and we did it. I want to clarify that any citizen of India–whether they are Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Parsi or Jew nobody’s citizenship will go away.”

“The DMK and Congress are creating confusion on the matter,” he continued.

Regarding the elimination of triple talaq, he declared that “mothers and sisters” of all religions are “our mothers and sisters.” “Any atrocity against our mothers and sisters of any religion, we stand with them and we proved this by ending triple talaq,” he said.
