Authorities confirmed on Sunday that the body of a 22-year-old female engineering student from Pune, who had been missing since March 30, was discovered murdered in Ahmednagar. According to a police official, she was allegedly abducted by three individuals, one of whom was a college acquaintance, under the pretense of ransom, and subsequently strangled.
The official provided details, stating, “She was enrolled in an engineering college in the Wagholi area. On March 29, a male college friend and two others met her and escorted her to her hostel. The following day, they transported her to Ahmednagar, where they demanded a ransom of Rs 9 lakh from her parents. Following this, they committed the heinous act, burying her body on the outskirts of Ahmednagar and removing the SIM card from her cellphone.”
Following a missing person report filed by her family, a police investigation utilized technical analysis to pinpoint the three suspects, ultimately leading to their apprehension, as per the official.
