105 Electric Buses Flagged Off From DTC: BJP MP Yogesh Chandolia

BJP MP Yogesh Chandolia stated on June 27 that the Delhi government developed 105 electric buses, which were flagged off from the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) to serve rural areas of the national capital.

In an interview, he said that this initiative aims to reduce traffic congestion, pollution, and ensure free travel for women passengers.

‘False Promises’: BJP MP Chandolia slams AAP

BJP Leader Chandolia said in a statement, “Keeping the rural areas of Delhi in mind, the Rekha Gupta government of Delhi has established a DTC depot here, and 105 small buses will be dispatched from here. This is the Delhi government’s contribution to saving Delhi’s environment. These are electric buses, and women will travel for free on these buses. These small buses will address the problem of traffic jams.”

Further, he took a jibe at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for making false promises and commitments to the Delhiites on public transport and environmental issues.

He further added that the Aam Aadmi Party have ‘nothing but lies’.

Moreover, he stated that in the coming times, all buses will be turned into electric ones to improve Delhi’s environment.

CM Rekha Gupta’s vision

During a media briefing, CM Rekha Gupta said they have decided to give 280 electric buses to Delhi.

“By 2027, the whole fleet of buses provided by the Delhi government will be electric”, she further added.

Delhi CM also said that they are going to bring a new EV policy.

With this, CM Gupta praised the new buses and called them a valuable asset for Delhi, pointing out it’s high comfort level and security features.

Moreover, she stated, “These buses are a tremendous asset for Delhi. This is a highly comfortable bus. Cameras and panic buttons have been installed inside the bus. The buses have a low floor and are air- conditioned. ”

The CM also slammed the previous governments by saying that they didn’t pay any attention towards the environment.

However, Delhi remained unprivileged of the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ under the tenure of the previous government.

Furthermore, she expressed that their target is to plant ’70 lakhs’ trees this year.
